Is the United States a Failed Society?

The facts have become too dire to ignore any longer.

IтАЩd like to pose a question I’ve been dancing around for the last couple of postsIs the United States a failed society?

That may seem overly dramatic, but please hear me out.

Recently, it has once again come to the attention of the news media that Americans are an order of magnitude more likely to die at every age than citizens of other advanced, wealthy, industrialized nations.

This was most recently expounded by a Financial Times correspondent named John Burn-Murdoch. The article itself is paywalled, but this Twitter thread contains all the relevant information:

https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1641799698058035200.html

It makes for sobering reading. A lot of times the discussion just focuses on total life expectancy, that is, the number on the death certificate. ThatтАЩs fallen too, but not as dramatically. But life expectancy differs at various ages. Yet, what the numbers invariably show is that, at every single age Americans are more likely to die than their counterparts in other wealthy industrialized nations.

For example, one in 25 five-year-olds in the United States will not live to see their fortieth birthday. That means a lot of parents are going to have to bury their children. But at every age, whether you’re twenty-five or fifty, your chances of dying are much higher in the United States than anywhere else. By age 29, the average American is four times more likely to die than a 29 year-old in another country. IтАЩve heard plenty of stories from people in their twenties and thirties talking about their high-school years like military veterans recounting their service during wartime (тАЬfifteen in my class didnтАЩt make it out.тАЭ). And those are just ordinary citizens!

In other words, growing up in the United States is extraordinarily deadly.

In fact, the social outcomes for the average American are worse than the most socially deprived areas of the United Kingdom like BlackpoolтАФan area synonymous with industrial decline. At every single point along the income distribution, Americans are more likely to be hurt, injured, or killed than their peers in other wealthy, developed nations.

Furthermore, these trends are exclusively confined to the United States. Even Cuba, a relatively poor country under continuous sanctions by the United States since the nineteen-sixties, now has better health outcomes (e.g. life expectancy, infant mortality, chronic diseases). So, too, does China, which has overtaken the U.S. in a number of health metrics despite being the largest country in terms of total population.

The Atlantic’s┬аDerek Thompson┬аhas called┬аthe United States┬атАЬThe Rich World’s Death Trap.тАЭ┬аHe interviews John Burn-Murdock here:

The bottom line is this: in many ways, your life chances are much, much lower in the United States than in any other wealthy, industrialized nation in the world. This is simply undeniable.

Which leads me to pose the question I asked above.

Peer Countries

Because this is such a fraught topic, itтАЩs worthwhile to get some things out of the way. Certainly your life chances in the United States are better than many other parts of the world at the moment.

Some places are run by military dictatorships like North Korea or Myanmar. Some places are in outright civil war like Syria, Libya or Sudan. Some areas are in an active shooting war like Ukraine and Russia. Some countries have huge areas of absolute deprivation like sub-Saharan Africa, India, the Philippines or Afghanistan. Some countries have lost control over parts of their territory to drug gangs like Mexico, El Salvador, Peru and Ecuador. YouтАЩre certainly better off here than in many of those other countries.

So let’s just acknowledge that right off the bat. Of course, this raises questions about just how supposedly wonderful the current state of our world actually is, but that’s a topic for another time.

But I think it’s absolutely invalid to invoke those countries as a justification for the abysmal statistics listed above. Here’s why: the United States is at the absolute apex of the global economy, and has been since World War Two. We issue the world’s reserve currency. We have more billionaires than anywhere else. We are home to the largest and most powerful corporations in the world. No country in the world is more wealthy or powerful than the United States at the present moment.

This is the concept of peer nations. Those are the ones we should be judging ourselves against. You can use a number of indicators for this. The United States is a member of both the OECD and the G-7. In fact, it is the key member of these organizations. It is at peacetime. It is an electoral democracy. It has the world’s largest GDP. It is surrounded by the world’s two largest oceans and has benign neighbors to the north and the south. It has not had a war on its home soil since the 1860s.

Simply put, the United States has more resources at its disposal and more wherewithal to tackle social problems than anywhere else in the world.

So, unlike many other countries around the world, the United States has no excuse whatsoever for the sorry state of its citizenry, and comparing the United States to non-peer countries is no more than pathetic excuse-making in the face of damning evidence that the U.S. government simply chooses to ignore burgeoning social problems and leaves the majority of its citizens to fend for themselves.

What Else Is New?

Reading these facts, I’m wondering why any of this this is news to people. As far back as 2013 I noted the following:

Americans die younger and experience more injury and illness than people in other rich nations, despite spending almost twice as much per person on health care.

That was the startling conclusion of a major report released earlier this year by the U.S. National Research Council and the Institute of Medicine. It received widespread attention. The New York Times concluded: тАЬIt is now shockingly clear that poor health is a much broader and deeper problem than past studies have suggested.тАЭ

Why Is the United States So Sick? The director of a massive new study says: тАЬItтАЩs almost everything.тАЭ (Slate)

Also from 2013: The Surprising Reason Americans Are Far Less Healthy Than Others in Developed Nations (Alternet)

It received widespread attention all right, and then was promptly forgotten. But even earlier, in 2012, there was this report from The Lancet:

American teenagers have the highest rates of drug and alcohol abuse in the developed world. And they are far more likely to be killed by violence than peers in Europe. This lost generation, whose unemployment rate is 20 percent, leads the modern world in some of the most dangerous and irresponsible behaviors, according to a new study released by the Lancet medical journal.

U.S. teens worst in western world for binge-drinking, drugs and violent deaths (Daily Mail)

In 2019, husband-and-wife economists Angus Deaton and Anne Case coined the term “deaths of despair,” and noted that these were exclusively confined to the United States. In 2020, they published a book chronicling their grim studies with that same title. It, too, received a brief burst of attention in the media and then promptly disappeared down the memory hole just like everything else.

So this is old news. As Burn-MurdockтАЩs article notes, the divergence between the U.S. and its peers has been continuously growing since around 1990, and has been getting even more acute in recent years.

The above podcast touts how “rich” we are compared with other nations using metrics like dollar income. But what does a high salary even mean when you are less likely to survive than other places? What are you supposed to do with that money, anywayтАФfill your oversized house with crap? As the saying goes, тАЬyou canтАЩt take it with you.тАЭ This also belies the insanely high cost of everything in America, especially housing, which leads to 70 percent of Americans feeling financially stressed according to CNBC, despite how тАЬrichтАЭ we supposedly are. According to Brookings, 44 percent of Americans earn low wages in this allegedly тАЬrichтАЭ country.

And, as economist Dean Baker has noted, people in many other countries choose to take their additional тАЬincomeтАЭ as leisure time, which may be another reason why they are so much healthier than we are. Americans work longer hours than anyone else, and at unusual times. The United States has a lousy work culture, with much less vacation or family leave time than other countries. Americans also take less vacation, work longer days, and retire later. Citizens of other countries also don’t have to pay for as many things out of their own pocketтАФfrom transportation, to retirement, to health careтАФdue to a misguided fear of “socialism,” making income comparisons misleading. What sense does it make to earn a lot of money if you are lonely and isolated and have no time off to enjoy it? And much of that extra income is dedicated to cushioning ourselves from the fallout of a society decaying around us and positional goods to compete with everyone else.

My question is this: if the United States is┬аnot┬аa failed society, then by what criteria should we judge success? Are context-free income statistics, GDP, and the number of billionaires really the appropriate measure for a good society rather than the well-being of the average citizen? People like to tout AmericaтАЩs so-called тАЬinnovation,тАЭ but one area we donтАЩt seem to be innovating very much in is keeping our citizens healthy and alive.

The symptoms versus the disease

The reasons given for the above statistics are the usual ones: gun violence, drug overdoses, suicides, car crashes, metabolic diseases, and lack of access to basic and preventative health care compared to other nations.

But I want to distinguish the symptoms from the disease.

In medicine, doctors are taught to separate the symptoms from the disease. If a patient is suffering from a fever, jaundice, and swelling, for example; the fever, jaundice, and swelling aren’t what is making them ill. Instead, these are all symptoms caused by the disease which the patient is afflicted with, and it is the doctor’s job to determine what the disease is from the symptoms and try to cure it.

If that is the case, then what is the disease we are suffering from in this instance? In my opinion, it is this: American society is fundamentally rotten to the core.

We have effectively restructured our entire society as a lottery. Under this system, you’re entitled to precisely nothing except what you can claw free from the impersonal market casino rigged in favor the House. American society been transformed into a brutal winner-take-all tournament in the name of тАЬmeritocracy,тАЭ and most Americans seem to be okay with that.

At every point on their hierarchy, from the highest perch to the lowest, everyone is desperately trying to maintain their current position, hyperattuned to status, fearful of falling into the abyss, clawing each otherтАЩs eyes out to hold onto their small piece of the pie in a crabs-in-a-bucket scenario. “There is no such thing as society” has been elevated from a political statement to a a central guiding tenet where itтАЩs every man for himself and the devil take the hindmost.

While other nations at least try to look after the welfare of all of their citizens, in America if you are not rich, successful or an entrepreneur, then your life is worth nothing. If you aren’t good enough, or don’t measure up, then you deserve to suffer. We actively hate the poor and think they should die. We talk about them like animalsAverage is over. The rich get richer. Winners take all.

Cutthroat capitalism is the order of the day. Your only task when you get up every morning is to get as much of the other guy’s money as possible into your own bank account by any means necessary for the next twenty-four hours and do it all over again the next day. There is no higher purpose. тАЬFreedomтАЭ is defined as the ability for the rich to do whatever they like to the rest of us without consequence or sanction. It’s a world of predator and prey where you can either be one or the otherтАФthere is no other option.

Unlike in other countries, in the United States the government does not exist to help its citizens; rather, its primary role is to funnel money to a series of well-connected insiders feeding at various troughs. The rest of us are on our own. No one is on your side.

In every country, you need to educate your citizenry and keep them safe and healthy. That is the most basic task of any government, anywhere. In the United States, these tasks are delegated to predatory institutions designed to extract as much money as possible so that sticky-fingered middlemen can siphon off as vast amounts to feather their nests. A small sliver of executives in finance, education and health care get obscenely rich while the rest of the population struggles and is mired in debt, assuming they can even access those services at all. As a result, Americans pay wildly inflated prices for just about everything, from health care, to education, to energy, to entertainment and telecommunications. And the system cannot be changed because those insiders and middlemen fund the political campaigns and spend billions on highly effective propaganda. The rich people at the apex cynically strip-mine society for their benefit, while there are fewer paths than ever to a middle class lifestyle for the average person.

тАЬEverything for myself and my immediate offspring; nothing for other people,тАЭ is the pervasive ethos: “I dont want pay for someone else’s (health care, education, fill-in-the blank).тАЭ But once that attitude becomes endemic, you no longer have anything even resembling a society anymore; you have only collection of individuals fending for themselves. As the title of a post from a few years back put itтАЬI don’t know how to explain to you that you should care about other people.тАЭ

It is a nation of sociopaths where fellow citizens are seen as either enemies or competitors. The simple warmth of human kindness has been abolished. Americans walk around in a constant state of fear and high alertness like the prey animals they have become. Or else they have the thousand-yard-stare grazing in the aisles at Walmart. IтАЩve mentioned before how many Americans seem to be crazed and deranged, or zonked out on drugs, and donтАЩt know how to behave around other people or show basic decency. People seem more and more desperate. I personally have witnessed many more acts of erratic behavior and dangerous driving lately, and have heard similar stories from other people. American society seems to be under more pressure than ever before, and people are cracking up left and right. It feels like a lot of peopleтАФeven the supposedly тАЬsuccessfulтАЭ onesтАФhave basically checked out and are simply going through the motions.

The United States is a plantation society to the core. At a basic, fundamental level, American society is not set up not to deliver a good quality of life to it citizens, but rather for a small segment of hard, hard men to get unfathomably rich beyond the dreams of avarice, with the rest of us no more than insects to be stepped on in pursuit of that goal. And if some people happen to enjoy good lives anyway under that system, well, it’s more of an unintentional side-effect than a deliberate outcome. Perhaps you’re one of those hard men (or women), or hope to be. Good for you, I guess.

So I think that’s the fundamental reason for all of the above. ThatтАЩs the disease, and everything else is merely a symptomтАФour refusal to properly fund universal health care; our built environment designed exclusively around cars and lack of public transportation; our fat and sugar-laden diets; our overcrowded prisons; our opioid-addicted homeless; our frayed social safety nets; our violent, trigger-happy cops; our extortionate education costs; our predatory financial institutions; our refusal to build affordable housing; and our propensity to shoot one another. American society is rotten to the core.

For example, even though our weekly mass shootings make international headlines, they don’t really have that much of an impact on life expectancy when you compare them against the size of the world’s third most populous nation, despite troubling statistics like these:

Last year (2022), two people died from gun violence in the United States every hour. In 2023, there have been at least 160 mass shootings across the US so far this year. There are 120 guns for every 100 Americans. No other nation has more civilian guns than people. About 44% of US adults live in a household with a gun, and about one-third personally own one.

How US gun culture stacks up with the world (CNN)

How many US mass shootings have there been in 2023? (BBC)

But thatтАЩs not the question we should be asking. The question we should be asking is this: what does this level of gun massacres and homicidal mania say about the nature of American society itself?

What does it say about American society that so many people have to turn to alcohol, opioids and other addictive drugs just to cope?

What does it say about America that it produces so many mentally-ill and broken people?

What does it say that Americans are so much fatter and sicker than people in other countries?

What does it say that we lock up more of our citizens than anywhere else in the world?

What does it say that our Surgeon General has described an epidemic of loneliness and isolation?

Americans are prickly and thin-skinned. They can’t bear any criticism of their nation, and will absolutely lose their minds at even the implication that they do not live in the best country on earth, despite mountains of evidence to the contrary (unless you are very wealthy). They will rationalize away all of the statistics listed above. Or else they will resort to immigrants as a way to shore up their fragile egos: тАЬEveryone wants to move here!!!тАЭ Interestingly, according to the podcast above (-14:39), U.S. immigrants seem to live about as long as anyone else in the world. Perhaps itтАЩs because immigrant communities tend to look after each other and manage to keep the toxic, every-man-for-himself individualism of mainstream American culture at armтАЩs length. Too bad for the rest of us, though.

In the end, the facts speak for themselves: By the standards that actually matter for the average individual, compared to peer nations, the United States is an objective failure.

Why is it like this? Some pessimists say that it’s been like this from day one and thereтАЩs nothing we can do about it. Perhaps theyтАЩre right. But the facts tell a different story. According to the data, itтАЩs really only since 1990 that this yawning chasm in social outcomes has opened up in between the United States and the rest of the world. During the New Deal era, for instance, these gaps didnтАЩt exist or actually favored Americans. The United States was able to accomplish big things like building the Hoover Dam and putting a man on the moon, and people didnтАЩt hate and fear their own government. The U.S. was perceived very differently abroad.

HereтАЩs what I think happened. Starting in the 1970s a small group of sociopathic men at the top of the hierarchy acquired the means and the tools to reshape the United States in their own image. They founded think-tanks. They funded economics departments and political campaigns. They bought up the media. They started television networks to promote their agenda. They packed the courts. They used the latest cutting-edge psychological research and techniques that had been developed in the service of advertising to remold the society like putty in their hands. Throughout the decade of the 1980s under Reagan, their plans ultimately came to fruition, and the transformation was compete by 1990 which is why the changes became apparent after then. Ever since, weтАЩve been living in the society that they have created. IтАЩm skeptical that Americans were always inherently more sociopathic and antisocial than people everywhere elseтАФI think to a large extent weтАЩve been made to be this way.

So weтАЩre all living in the end result of that. And now that it has been accomplished, we see the ugly results everywhere around us, including increasing political radicalization and strife as the failure of this vision of society is becoming increasingly apparent but we seem to be incapable of envisioning an alternative or are too fearful of change. Instead, we seem to be doubling down. I fear itтАЩs already too late to turn things around, and this is just the way American society will be forever now and things will just continue to get worse and worse for the vast majority of us. We will remain the (not so) rich worldтАЩs death trap, permanently.

IтАЩll conclude with this passage which I read years ago:

If I could paint the country in one broad stroke, I would say it’s a place where one concept of freedom тАУ used to lobby for private interests and free markets тАУ is at odds with another kind: the ability to lead a life you enjoy. Fewer and fewer seem privileged with this second kind. Not Trayvon Martin, who was a victim of a certain kind of racism which had, as its root, private property anxiety. Not the natural gas employee who has consigned himself to a life of doing something that he feels ought not to be done. Even I тАУ who have managed to escape from time to time тАУ always find, upon return, a cordial invitation to fall in line.

What I learned about freedom from hitchhiking around America (The Guardian)

As the above statistics show, not only are many of us not living lives we enjoy, but increasingly more and more of us arenтАЩt living at all.

Military Escalation in the Middle East: Is Israel Planning a Multi-Front War against Its Arab Neighbors?

Top US and Israeli Military Officials Meet Unannounced in Southern Israel

By Timothy Alexander Guzman

Source: Silent Crow News

If you watch the US mainstream mediaтАЩs 24 hour news coverage on recent events around the world no matter what time of the day it is, Covid-19 and China dominate the headlines while ignoring recent escalations in the Middle East involving Israel and its Arab neighbors as they come closer to another war in an already devastated region.┬а┬аThe Times of Israel┬аreported that the Israeli government┬атАЬsent a message to Hezbollah warning the Lebanese terror group against any retaliatory action in response to the killing of one of the organizationтАЩs fighters in an airstrike in Syria on Monday night, which was attributed to Israel.тАЭ┬а According to various reports, Israel has killed one of HezbollahтАЩs fighters Ali Kamel Mohsen Jawad in another cross-border attack in Syria last week and now fears that Hezbollah will retaliate, but IsraelтАЩs military and intelligence community has issued a statement aimed at Hezbollah, Lebanon and Syria warning them not to retaliate considering that Israel would most likely launch a multi-front attack on all entities involved.┬а The report said that┬атАЬthe airstrike attributed to Israel on Monday night hit weapons depots and military positions belonging to Syrian regime forces and Iran-backed militia fighters, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.тАЭ┬а┬аFor the record,┬аThe Syrian Observatory for Human Rights┬а(SOHR) is a UK government funded pro-opposition group to the Assad Government.┬а In a statement by the Israeli army,┬атАЬThe IDF holds the Syrian regime responsible for the fire against Israel earlier todayтАЭ┬аand that┬атАЬthe IDF will continue operating with determination and will respond to any violation of Israeli sovereignty.тАЭ┬а What was revealing was an unannounced meeting between the US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley and IsraelтАЩs top military leaders including Defense Minister Benny Gantz:

US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, made an unannounced visit to Israel, meeting with Defense Minister Benny Gantz, IDF chief Lt. Gen. Aviv Kohavi and Mossad director Yossi Cohen, along with other top brass.┬а

Israeli television commentators speculated on the possible significance of the visit, particularly regarding the threat posed by Iran and its Lebanese ally Hezbollah. тАЬIn light of a situational assessment in the IDF and in accordance with the Northern CommandтАЩs defense plan, the IDFтАЩs deployment will change in both the military and civilian arena. with the goal of strengthening defenses along the northern border,тАЭ the IDF said in the statement. In a tacit threat, the IDF preemptively warned Beirut that it sees the state of Lebanon as тАЬresponsible for all actions emanating from LebanonтАЭ

Something big is about to take place as the IDF┬атАЬcleared some troops out of positions directly along the border, moving them deeper into Israel, so that they would not represent a clear target for Hezbollah, while still allowing them to defend the frontierтАЭ┬аaccording to the report.┬а However, MilleyтАЩs visit at the Nevatim Air Base in southern Israel is significant according to another report by the┬аTimes of Israel тАШUS military chief visits Israel to talk regional threats, amid tensions in northтАЩ┬аstating that┬атАЬthe visit came at a time of heightened tensions with Iran and its allies across the Middle East.тАЭ┬аGeneral Milley was briefed by IsraelтАЩs Intelligence agencies including Mossad and IsraelтАЩs military intelligence unit, Aman on the threat they face from Iran and its allies.┬а After the briefing, Gantz declared that┬атАЬthe need to continue the pressure on Iran and its proxies that threaten regional and global stabilityтАЭ┬аsignaling to itтАЩs neighboring enemies тАЬnotтАЭ to test Israel.

Lebanon has two major problems to deal with besides another catastrophic war, for starters it has a severe economic crisis with a collapsing currency.┬а The other problem is their newly discovered offshore oil and gas reserves which the US and Israel would love to get their hands on.┬а LebanonтАЩs offshore oil reserves is estimated to be at 865 million barrels and has gas reserves that range from 25 trillion cubic feet┬а(an estimate published in 2018 by the Chatham House which is part of the Royal Institute of International Affairs, a think tank based in London)┬аto 96 trillion cubic feet in 2013, an estimate claimed by the Lebanese Energy Minister at the time, Gebran Bassil.┬а Either way, Lebanon hosts Hezbollah on its territory and has discovered an abundance of natural resources in its offshore territories, its a prime target for Israel and the US.

War Will Begin in the Middle East, Not Asia?

The recent incident involving IranтАЩs Mahan air passenger plane traveling from Tehran to Beirut over Syria and a US┬аF-14 fighter jet who apparently came dangerously close to the plane according to Iranian media is a sign of aggression that sends a message to Iran and its allies including Hezbollah that the US and Israel is prepared for war.┬а Israel does not want Washington to focus on China since the upcoming US elections are months away and Israel is not sure what is going to happen come this November with Trump and his pro-Israel administration.┬а Israel cannot afford to have Washington start a new war with China so for the time being tensions between the US and China will lead to a new Cold War 2.0.┬а The Middle East is an important region that remains a strategic part of the worldтАЩs economy with its valuable natural resources, a fact too important to ignore for western Big Oil interests and Israel.┬а The meeting between US and Israeli military officials is significant and should be taken seriously, but the world is consumed with news on Covid-19 and China. Another Middle East war can happen either before or after the November elections and that depends on how desperate Israel becomes.┬а Israel can pull WashingtonтАЩs strings and ignite a war between the US and Iran before the situation intensifies in the South China Sea.

War is inevitable and it will begin in the Middle East and end on the US mainland with an already declining economy and a society that is falling apart.┬а Non-stop protests continue to destroy many US cities with the possibility of more riots to to come if the never-Trump crowd or the Democrats lose the elections in November.┬а However, while the world is occupied by a virus and the tensions in the South China Sea continue between the US and China and an upcoming Presidential election, a new conflict between Israel and its Arab neighbors is a real possibility, making it one of the most dangerous periods in human history.

COVID-19 Does Not Exist: The Global EliteтАЩs Campaign of Terror Against Humanity

By Robert J. Burrowes

There is no COVID-19 virus. It does not exist. If you ask any doctor or scientist in the world to show you a scientifically-verified proof that it does exist, they will not be able to show you one.

Given that it has not been scientifically established that the COVID-19 virus exists, it is therefore clear that everything being done supposedly in the effort to tackle the тАШvirusтАЩ is being done for another purpose and COVID-19 is being used to conceal this fact.

However, with the elite-driven narrative being endlessly promoted by the World Health Organisation, governments, the medical and pharmaceutical industries, along with the corporate media, the truth is being obliterated.

And the reason for this is obvious: Any serious consideration of the underlying evidence, as I have documented previously, clearly indicates that the global elite is conducting a coup against humanity and using the fear it generates around COVID-19 to distract people from paying attention to what is happening in the background. For this reason, the coup continues to gain pace with only an insignificant number of people yet aware of the coup and its ongoing and increasingly devastating impacts.

тАШHow is the elite doing this?тАЩ you might ask. Far too easily, unfortunately.

In essence, key individuals in the World Health Organisation (WHO), governments, the medical and pharmaceutical industries, as well as the corporate media are lying to you about this. They are lying to you, consciously or unconsciously, for essentially one of three reasons (essentially determined by where the individual fits in relation to the eliteтАЩs ongoing execution of its coup):

1. they are lying as an outcome of their complicity in the coup (given the perceived benefits to them personally, at least in the short term),

2. they are lying as an outcome of their ignorance (by not investigating and considering the evidence for themself and submissively accepting the elite narrative), or

3. they are lying as an outcome of their fear (of the adverse personal repercussions they would expect for resisting the elite narrative that there is indeed a virus).

And, so far, the elite is successfully executing its coup because the many voices contradicting its narrative тАУ such as those individual doctors powerful enough to present the truth about the so-called тАШvirusтАЩ тАУ are being denied a forum in any elite-controlled outlet such as the corporate media or they are being censored (including removed from accessible sites on the internet).

If what I have written above sounds incredible given the worldwide response supposedly to tackle the тАШvirusтАЩ, the evidence presented below, together with the references to further documentation, will give you plenty to consider (provided your own fear will allow you to do so).

But before presenting this evidence, it is worth being aware of some of the existing adverse impacts of the coup:

1. The sudden destruction of the global economy has impoverished tens of millions of people in industrialized societies through unemployment, making them even more vulnerable to homelessness and other misery, as well as precipitating the death of millions of people projected to die of starvation in Africa, Asia and elsewhere because of the disruption of global food production and supply. See тАШWFP chief warns of тАЬhunger pandemicтАЭ as Global Food Crises Report launchedтАЩ and тАШCOVID-19 could kill more people through hunger than the disease itself, warns OxfamтАЩ.

2. There has been a dramatic increase in violence against children and women all over the world and particularly in some contexts with a recent United Nations Population Fund report highlighting that an тАШadditional 5.6 million child marriages can be expected because of the coronavirus pandemic, which resulted in a short-term increase in poverty and the shutdown of schoolsтАЩ. In addition, the тАШcurrent pandemic is also expected to have a massive impact on the projected growth of harmful practices on womenтАЩs bodiesтАЩ including female genital mutilation (FGM). See тАШChild Marriage, FGM and Harmful Practices on WomenтАЩs Bodies to Increase Because of COVID-19тАЩ.

3. The lockdowns have imprisoned people in their homes (with its seriously adverse psychological, social and physical repercussions) and laws have been introduced regarding тАШsocial distancingтАЩ and other measures (including mask-wearing which I will discuss below) that have eviscerated rights and freedoms it took centuries to win. For the details, see тАШThe EliteтАЩs COVID-19 Coup against a Terrified Humanity: Resisting PowerfullyтАЩ.

In response to growing concerns on a number of points, 600 doctors signed a letter to US President Donald Trump to end the тАШlockdownтАЩ тАУ see тАШтАЬMass casualty incidentтАЭ: 600 doctors sign letter to Trump calling for end to lockdowns over health concernsтАЩ тАУ which has since been signed by thousands. See тАШLiterally Thousands of Doctors and Scientists Have Come Out Against FauciтАЩs Lockdowns Including a Nobel Prize-Winning Biophysicist. The Media Just DoesnтАЩt Want You to KnowтАЩ.

4. Despite the тАШdiagnosticтАЩ tests for COVID-19 being тАШscientifically meaninglessтАЩ тАУ see тАШCOVID19 PCR Tests are Scientifically MeaninglessтАЩ тАУ (how can they not be when there is no virus?) compulsory vaccination (again, against a non-existent virus) is being threatened тАУ see тАШ120 Covid-19 Vaccine Projects are UnderwayтАЩ тАУ in direct violation of Article 6 of the тАШUniversal Declaration on Bioethics and Human RightsтАЩ despite the extensively documented record of vaccines causing devastating harms including massive lethality. For a taste of the vast literature on this point, see тАШGatesтАЩ Globalist Vaccine Agenda: A Win-Win for Pharma and Mandatory VaccinationтАЩ.

As Dr Stefan Lanka has explained about vaccines generally:

Only ignorant people who blindly trust in the state authorities who are тАШtestingтАЩ and approving the vaccines can regard vaccination as a тАШsmall harmless prickтАЩ. The verifiable facts demonstrate the danger and negligence of these scientists and politicians, who claim that vaccines are safe, have little or no side-effects and would protect from a disease. None of these claims is true and scientific. See тАШThe Misconception Called тАЬVirusтАЭ: Measles as an exampleтАЩ.

Moreover, this vaccination will be used to dramatically expand surveillance both via biometric ID and тАШimmunity passesтАЩ. See тАШID2020 and partners launch program to provide digital ID with vaccinesтАЩ and тАШMass-Tracking COVI-PASS Immunity Passports Slated to Roll Out in 15 CountriesтАЩ.

  1. Other measures to expand surveillance (apart from through vaccination) are being introduced. These include тАШcontact tracingтАЩ despite the fact that even тАШA WHO study on influenza pandemics in 2019 came to the conclusion that contact tracing is not useful from an epidemiological point of view and тАЬis not recommended in any circumstancesтАЭ.тАЩ See тАШFacts about COVID-19тАЩ. But that is precisely the point: Contact tracing is not about epidemiological usefulness; it is about surveillance.
  2. Critically, several measures necessary to implement the so-called fourth industrial revolution, including the deployment of 5G, which will reduce human individuals to digitized identities without effective rights and freedoms, are being accelerated. See тАШTechno-Tyranny: How The US National Security State Is Using Coronavirus To Fulfill An Orwellian VisionтАЩ.
  3. While much human activity has been brought to a standstill, this has not included any of the violence which has not only continued unchecked but has expanded. Apart from the dramatic increase in violence against children and women all over the world noted above, wars, threats of war, sanctions, the military violence of occupations in places such as Palestine, Tibet and West Papua, the structural violence that systematically exploits (that is, loots) countries in Africa, Asia and Central/South America, the ecological violence that destroys lands, oceans and atmosphere have all proceeded as usual with the caveat that there has been a reduction in the emissions of some industrial and other waste products although this is hugely problematic in one critical sense. See тАШWill COVID-19 Trigger Extinction of All Life on Earth?тАЩ
  4. And four distinct paths to human extinction тАУ nuclear war, the climate catastrophe, the deployment of 5G and biodiversity collapse тАУ have been accelerated, inadvertently or otherwise, by the coup. See тАШThe EliteтАЩs COVID-19 Coup to Destroy Humanity that is also Fast-Tracking Four Paths to Human ExtinctionтАЩ.

COVID-19 Does Not Exist

Despite these and many other adverse impacts already happening in response to the COVID-19 crisis, as noted at the beginning, it has never been scientifically established that the COVID-19 virus actually exists. More fundamentally, according to Dr Stefan Lanka: тАШContrary to what most people believe, there are no pathogenic viruses.тАж All claims about viruses as pathogens are wrong and are based on easily recognisable, understandable and verifiable misinterpretationsтАж. A real and complete virus does not exist anywhere in the entire тАЬscientificтАЭ literature.тАЩ See тАШThe Misconception Called тАЬVirusтАЭ: Measles as an exampleтАЩ.

To reiterate in the words of two other authors: тАШthere is no original scientific evidence that definitively demonstrates that any virus is the cause of any diseaseтАЩ. See What Really Makes You Ill? Why everything you thought you knew about disease is wrong. But you can read more in тАШDismantling the Virus Theory тАУ The тАЬmeasles virusтАЭ as an exampleтАЩ and watch the video interview тАШThe Real Science of Germs: Do Viruses Cause Disease?тАЩ

In addition, and specifically in relation to COVID-19, according to Dr Andrew Kaufman, тАШthere is no evidence of anyone dying from any novel illnessтАЩ. See тАШUnmasking the Lies Around COVID-19: Facts vs Fiction of the Coronavirus PandemicтАЩ. So what has happened?

As Dr Kaufman explains: Early scientific papers on the subject suggested an association (not causation) between a novel coronavirus тАШwith human to human transmission and severe human infectionтАЩ whereas a subsequent key тАШscientificтАЩ paper that made a claim which helped drive the global response to COVID-19 тАШflat out liedтАЩ about their results: тАШFollowing the first outbreaks of unexplained pneumonia in Wuhan, China, in late 2019, a new coronavirus was identified as the causative agent in January 2020.тАЩ See тАШIdentification of Coronavirus Isolated from a Patient in Korea with COVID-19тАЩ. In fact, Dr Kaufman points out: тАШthey cannot reference any science to back that up whatsoeverтАЩ.

Moreover, subsequently to this paper, another article тАУ see тАШI study viruses: How our team isolated the new coronavirus to fight the global pandemicтАЩ тАУ declared тАШThe emergence of a new coronavirus in a market in Wuhan, China, in December 2019 set in motion the pandemic we are now witnessing in 160 countries around the worldтАЩ. But again, Dr Kaufman counters, тАШno evidence was provided at allтАЩ to support this claim: тАШjust flat out liesтАЩ. For the details and citation of all the scientific sources for this explanation of how the COVID-19 тАШrumour millтАЩ got started, see тАШThe Rooster in the River of RatsтАЩ or тАШKochтАЩs Postulates: Have They Been Proven for Viruses?тАЩ

Finally on this point, pathologist Dr Stoian Alexov, President of the Bulgarian Pathology Association, has stated that he and his colleagues across Europe:

have not found any evidence of any deaths from the novel coronavirus on that continent.

Dr. Stoian Alexov called the World Health Organization (WHO) a тАШcriminal medical organizationтАЩ for creating worldwide fear and chaos without providing objectively verifiable proof of a pandemic.

See тАШтАЬNo one has died from the coronavirusтАЭ: Important revelations shared by Dr Stoian Alexov, President of the Bulgarian Pathology AssociationтАЩ.

Fortunately, as awareness of the fact that the COVID-19 virus does not exist gradually spreads, more people are challenging the official response to the engineered crisis on that basis. For example, one group of doctors has written to the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson challenging Public Health England to тАШshow proofтАЩ that a virus exists. See тАШChallenge to Public Health England that they must show Proof that a Virus Exists which Causes COVID-19 or Declare there is No Virus and end the Vax and Trax ProgrammesтАЩ.

But it is clear that the engineered crisis and the measures supposedly being taken to combat the non-existent тАШvirusтАЩ are being used to mask the truth, including the elite coup, and so actions aimed at elite agents, such as governments, must inevitably fail.

Unscientific Responses to the Non-existent Virus

The unscientific nature of the supposed threat posed by the тАШvirusтАЩ is, of course, matched by the unscientific response with countries imposing lockdowns suffering far worse outcomes тАУ measured psychologically, socially, economically and otherwise тАУ than countries, such as Japan, South Korea, Belarus and Sweden which did not follow this course. In any case, countries that did impose lockdowns could only use lies and statistical manipulation to make it appear that COVID-19 has been the cause of death among some of those who are recently deceased. For a taste of the extensive documentation, see тАШFacts about COVID-19: July 2020 UpdateтАЩ and тАШCOVID 19 Is A Statistical NonsenseтАЩ.

Given that the negative impacts of the lockdown are extensively documented, there have been many attempts (of many different kinds) occurring all over the world to end them already. See, for example, тАШтАЬMass casualty incidentтАЭ: 600 doctors sign letter to Trump calling for end to lockdowns over health concernsтАЩ, тАШVaccine Group Sues Trudeau Government for тАЬDraconian and UnjustifiableтАЭ Response to COVID-19тАЩ and тАШPopular Uprising against 2nd Covid Lockdown. Belgrade Liberated! The Govt Backs DownтАЩ.

But another way in which this unscientific response to the non-existent тАШvirusтАЩ is manifesting is immediately obvious if one examines the scientific evidence in relation to the effectiveness of masks in preventing cross infection. As it turns out, as explained in a long series of documented scientific studies, as distinct from the inaccurate claims promulgated by elite agents,

the research demonstrates that masks are at best ineffective, and at worst horribly counterproductive; that is, masks cannot achieve the purpose for which they are, supposedly, intended but they can achieve some very unhealthy outcomes.

But who among the general population is seeking out and considering this evidence (which the WHO, governments, the medical and pharmaceutical industries, the education systems and the corporate media are not going to present)?

For just a sample of the evidence about the ineffectiveness and dangers of wearing a mask, see the following:

тАШNevertheless, the question of the effectiveness of masks can be asked. In the case of influenza epidemics, the answer is already clear from a scientific point of view: masks in everyday life have no or very little effect. If used improperly, they can even increase the risk of infection.тАЩ See тАШFacts about COVID-19: July 2020 UpdateтАЩ.

In a recent study published in The New England Journal of Medicine, the five co-authors stated тАШWe know that wearing a mask outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from infection.тАЩ See тАШUniversal Masking in Hospitals in the Covid-19 EraтАЩ.

In his recent article тАШMasks DonтАЩt Work: A Review of Science Relevant to COVID-19 Social PolicyтАЩ documenting the results of his research, physics professor Dr Denis G. Rancourt concludes:

No RCT [randomized controlled trial] study with verified outcome shows a benefit for HCW [health care workers] or community members in households to wearing a mask or respirator. There is no such study. There are no exceptions.

Likewise, no study exists that shows a benefit from a broad policy to wear masks in public.

Furthermore, if there were any benefit to wearing a mask, because of the blocking power against droplets and aerosol particles, then there should be more benefit from wearing a respirator (N95) compared to a surgical mask, yet several large meta-analyses, and all the RCT, prove that there is no such relative benefit.

Masks and respirators do not work.

By making mask-wearing recommendations and policies for the general public, or by expressly condoning the practice, governments have both ignored the scientific evidence and done the opposite of following the precautionary principle.

After reviewing more than 50 articles on masks in the medical literature and documenting her case, Dr Sherri Tenpenny concludes as follows:

There are NO randomized, controlled trials (RCT) with verified outcomes that show a benefit to healthcare workers or community members for wearing a mask or a respirator. There is no such definitive study. Likewise, no study exists that shows a benefit from a broad policy to wear masks in public. See тАШCoronavirus Pt 4: Masks DonтАЩt ProtectтАЩ and, for your convenience, Tenpenny has cited the relevant passage from 35 of the articles she researched in this document: тАШConclusion Regarding Masks: They Do Not WorkтАЩ.

But if you want to read more, you can access each of the 50 articles Tenpenny cited or check out these as well: тАШCoronavirus: Face masks could increase risk of infection, medical chief warnsтАЩ and тАШCoronavirus Fact-Check #6: Does wearing a mask do anything?тАЩ

Or watch this video presentation: тАШWhy Face Masks DonтАЩt Work, According to ScienceтАЩ.

So if there is no virus and face masks do not work to prevent infection anyway, why are we being told to wear them and, increasingly, being terrorized into wearing them under threat of punishment if we do not? For just two of many examples, see тАШSoon, You Will Need to Wear a Mask to Enter Virtually Every Major Retail Store in AmericaтАЩ and тАШTotal Masking: VictoriaтАЩs Coronavirus ResponseтАЩ.

Because the face masks, like other elements of the supposed strategy to tackle COVID-19, are simply being used to terrorize us into not resisting the ongoing elite coup. See тАШThe Mask as a Symbol of SubjugationтАЩ, тАШThe New (Pathologized) TotalitarianismтАЩ and тАШThe Hidden Agendas of Masks, Distancing, and TracingтАЩ.

And it is largely working with most people projecting their fear onto the non-existent тАШvirusтАЩ and then ignorantly endeavouring to тАШprotectтАЩ themselves from it by wearing a mask (or going along with other measures supposedly intended to тАШprevent infectionтАЩ).

So if you are wondering why virtually everyone is being caught up in this, there are very good psychological reasons. One of them is that virtually all humans are terrorized into obedience as children. Consequently, resisting orders from those considered to be тАШin authorityтАЩ is virtually unthinkable. I have explained this submissive obedience in the article тАШContemplating Human Extinction Terrifies Most People: A Strategy for SurvivalтАЩ.

But there is another, more subtle, reason too.

COVID-19 and the Psychology of Projection

For the vast bulk of the human population, considering the fundamental evidence of what is taking place тАУ and acknowledging that the global elite is conducting a coup against us with all that this entails тАУ is truly terrifying. Moreover, recognizing that if we are to resist this coup, we will need to make a courageous and strategically-focused stand to defend ourselves is frightening for most people as well.

And the global elite knows this. It is for this reason that they are terrorizing us in the first place. The elite does not want people resisting the coup and it certainly does not want them resisting the coup effectively.

Hence, the global elite is exploiting our fear тАУ by projecting it onto COVID-19 тАУ so that we submissively go along with its coup. How is the elite doing this? Let me explain the psychology of projection, very simply.

If, when you are a child, you are scared of something but that тАШsomethingтАЩ is truly terrifying and inescapable тАУ that is, you are denied any safe opportunity to feel your terror and to take action in response to it so that you can make yourself safe тАУ your mind will precipitate one response and, if necessary, a second response to defend you in the short term.

The first response will be to significantly dampen (and possibly completely suppress) your awareness of just how terrifying the тАШsomethingтАЩ that is scaring you actually is so that you are not overwhelmed to such an extent that you become incapacitated. This response is intended to enable you to act powerfully to get yourself out of the terrifying situation and into a context in which you feel safe.

Ideally, following any such incident when you again feel safe, you need time to recover emotionally. Fundamentally, this means that you need time to focus on feeling the terror and other feelings that were raised during the incident so that these feelings are fully felt and expressed, rather than suppressed more deeply into your unconscious.

If, however, there is no opportunity for this emotional recovery, your mind will have no choice but to more deeply suppress your awareness of these feelings so that you can resume functioning more or less as previously. I say тАШmore or lessтАЩ because you wonтАЩt be functioning precisely as previously because the unconscious terror will now be playing a part in your emotional life and, therefore, playing a part in shaping your behaviour.

However, your unconscious mind тАУ which is enormously powerful тАУ has not given up on enabling you to heal from the terrifying incident and, therefore, its second response is to later trick you into believing that something else, that is far less frightening, is what is really scaring you so that you can safely access and feel your terror in relation to the original incident. Your mind does this so that the terror that was initially suppressed, in order to allow you to devise and implement a strategy for immediate survival, can now be released.

By using these two responses, your mind enables you to survive in a terrifying environment so that, hopefully at some point soon, you can devise and implement a strategy to escape that environment. But also by allowing you to subsequently believe that something that is actually quite safe by comparison is what was really scaring you in the first place, it gives you the opportunity to feel your fear and act it out without (or with profoundly reduced) fear of the consequences.

In the short term, this pair of responses by your mind can enable you to survive something truly terrifying: it minimizes the risk that you will be immobilized (frozen) in terror and thus unable to survive a dangerous situation. In essence, in evolutionary terms, these responses have tremendous survival value in the short term.

If, however, you are not able to escape the truly terrifying situation in the short term and you remain trapped in the situation indefinitely, your unconscious mind will continue to both suppress awareness of the terror and тАШtrickтАЩ you into subsequently believing that it is something else that is frightening you.

Unfortunately, beyond the very short term, this mental trick is highly dysfunctional. It leads the individual to eventually тАШforgetтАЩ (deeply suppress their awareness of) the original and true source of what is terrifying them and to believe that the safe тАШtargetтАЩ they unconsciously chose subsequently is actually the genuine threat.

In the jargon of psychology, this is called тАШprojectionтАЩ or тАШtransferenceтАЩ because the victim is now blaming something other than the true cause of their terror.

This has profound societal consequences too for the simple reason that an elite can effectively nominate the тАШsomethingтАЩ onto which our terror is projected. And it can do this very easily by simply parading a target or тАШlegitimized victimтАЩ as terrifying which, in effect, gives тАШpermissionтАЩ for us to feel scared of the target it has nominated. But in directing our fear in a certain direction, they are also invariably intent on manipulating our behaviour in response.

Historically, this has been demonstrated rather endlessly with the manipulation of our fear crucial to the achievement of certain elite ends, politically and otherwise. For example, racism (fear of other far less frightening Africans) exploded to justify the slave trade, Nazism exploited fears to mobilize Germans against far less frightening Jews (among others), Israeli leaders project the fear of Israelis to exploit far less frightening Palestinians and the entire US тАШwar on terrorтАЩ has been conducted on the basis of projecting peopleтАЩs unconscious terror at far less frightening Muslims. As I mentioned, however, the list of possible examples is virtually endless.

In each and every case, however, the terror exploited had its origin in something much earlier in the life of these individuals than the current circumstance exploited by elites. It had its origin during early childhood.

And this origin can be traced directly back to the parenting and teaching models virtually universally used by human beings. As I have explained many times previously, but to briefly reiterate here: virtually all human beings are terrified for the same reason: the child-raising process that sociologists like to label тАШsocializationтАЩ should be more accurately labeled тАШterrorizationтАЩ. This is because from the moment of a childтАЩs birth, parents, teachers, religious leaders and adults generally regard themselves as responsible for terrorizing the child into obedience of the commands, rules, conventions and laws that define the nature of permissible behaviour in their society.

But because evolutionary pressures do not predispose any individual to obey the will of another тАУ for the simple reason that obedience has no evolutionary functionality тАУ it takes enormous terrorization during childhood to ensure that the child surrenders their Self-will at the alter of obedience. To achieve this outcome and largely unknowingly, parents, teachers, religious leaders and other adults in the childтАЩs life use a large range of behaviours from the three categories of violence that I have labeled тАШvisibleтАЩ violence, тАШinvisibleтАЩ violence and тАШutterly invisibleтАЩ violence. See тАШWhy Violence?тАЩ and тАШFearless Psychology and Fearful Psychology: Principles and PracticeтАЩ.

At its most obvious, all children are routinely threatened with violence and actually punished with violence (usually in each of its three forms: тАШvisibleтАЩ, тАШinvisibleтАЩ and тАШutterly invisibleтАЩ) for тАШdisobedienceтАЩ (that is, for following their own Self-will rather than obeying orders to submit). See тАШPunishment is Violent and CounterproductiveтАЩ.

And, as preposterous as I know this sounds to those reading it for the first time: The fundamental outcome of this process is that all children end up utterly but unconsciously terrified of their parents, teachers, religious figures and other significant adults in their life.

But never given adequate safe opportunities to feel this terror, each child ends up projecting it onto something or a series of targets including those тАШlegitimized victimsтАЩ approved by an elite, local or otherwise.

Hence, in the current world context, this results in the bulk of the human population submitting to direction by the global elite to project their fear onto COVID-19 and then behave as ordered, rather than pay attention to the elite coup and resist it. For summaries and documentation of the evidence in relation to each of these points, see тАШThe EliteтАЩs COVID-19 Coup: Fighting for Our Humanity, Our Liberty and Our FutureтАЩ and тАШThe EliteтАЩs COVID-19 Coup to Destroy Humanity that is also Fast-Tracking Four Paths to Human ExtinctionтАЩ.

The elite does this by triggering our unconscious fear through endless reporting of the тАШthreatтАЩ posed by COVID-19, issuing warnings, announcing deaths supposedly caused by the тАШvirusтАЩ (and concealing that the death rates are not even comparable to deaths caused by a serious influenza), and placing increasingly onerous limits on our rights and freedoms (through such measures as lockdowns and mask-wearing). And because virtually everyone has so much suppressed terror and needs outlets onto which this can be projected, the coup is being conducted virtually without resistance.

As I have explained before, just because the global elite is able to do this does not mean that it is sane. In fact, it is completely insane and that is precisely why it is conducting this coup but unable to see its catastrophic outcome for the elite as well. See тАШThe Global Elite is Insane RevisitedтАЩ.

So what can we do?

Well, if we are to effectively resist the elite coup and fight for human survival, it would be useful to start by giving yourself time to focus on feeling your emotional responses тАУ fear, anger, sadness, pain, dreadтАж. тАУ to whatever is generating an emotional reaction: COVID-19, the elite coup, the imminent threats of extinction or anything else. See тАШPutting Feelings FirstтАЩ.

This is necessary so that you can engage meaningfully and strategically in the effort, whatever issue you choose to fight.

So once you have a clearer sense of your emotional reactions to this knowledge and have allowed yourself time to focus on feeling these feelings, you will be in a far more powerful position to consider your response to the situation. And, depending on your interests and circumstances, there is a range of possible responses that will each make an important difference.

Fundamentally, you might consider making тАШMy Promise to ChildrenтАЩ which will include considering what an education for your children means to you, particularly if you want powerful individuals тАУ not ones who are submissively obedient and project their terror тАУ who can perceive reality and resist violence. See тАШDo We Want School or Education?тАЩ

You might consider supporting others to become more powerful. See тАШNisteling: The Art of Deep ListeningтАЩ.

If you wish to strategically resist the elite coup against humanity, you can read about nonviolent strategy, including strategic goals for doing so, from here: Coup Strategic Aims.

Remaining pages on this website fully explain the twelve components of the strategy, as illustrated by the Nonviolent Strategy Wheel, as well as articles and videos explaining all of the vital points of strategy and tactics, such as those to help you understand тАШNonviolent Action: Why and How it WorksтАЩ.

Given the complexity of the configuration of this conflict, however, which involves the need to fight simultaneously to retain our essential humanity, defeat the elite coup and avert near-term human extinction, it is important that our tactical choices are strategically-oriented (as are those listed at the Strategic Aims page nominated above). Hence, three further considerations assume importance.

First, choose/design tactics that have strategic impact, that is, they fundamentally and permanently alter, in our favor, the power relationship between the elite and us.

Second, when tactical choices are made, focus them on undermining the elite coup, not just features of it, such as тАШsocial distancingтАЩ or the lockdowns. At its most basic, this can be achieved by using tactical choices that mobilize people to act initially, as is happening, but then inviting them to consider taking further, more focused, action as well (such as those nominated in the strategic goals referenced above). This is important because existing actions will have little impact on key underlying measures, such as those being taken by the elite to advance the fourth industrial revolution.

Third, choose/design tactics that also have strategic impact on the greatest threats to human survival, including the collapsing biodiversity on Earth, the threat of nuclear war, the climate catastrophe and the deployment of 5G. Given the incredibly short timeframe in which we are now working to avert human extinction, while people are mobilizing it is important to use this opportunity to give them the chance to perceive the тАШbig pictureтАЩ of what is taking place тАУ beyond lockdowns and other measures supposedly being used to tackle COVID-19 тАУ and to act powerfully in response.

Fortunately, as more people become aware of the deeper strands of what is taking place, the energy to break the lockdowns, resist other limitations on our rights and freedoms (such as contact tracing, COVID-19 testing/temperature checks, mask-wearing and vaccinations) as well as resist the coup itself will gather pace. As I have previously outlined, using a locally relevant focus, or perhaps several, for which many people would traditionally be together тАУ a cultural, religious or sporting event, a nonviolent action, a community activity such as working to establish a community garden to increase local self-reliance, a celebration and/or a return to work тАУ we can mobilize people to collectively resist.

If you wish to focus on powerfully resisting one of the primary threats to human existence тАУ nuclear war, the deployment of 5G, the collapse of biodiversity and/or the climate catastrophe тАУ you can read about nonviolent strategy, including strategic goals to focus your campaigns, from here: Campaign Strategic Aims.

You might also consider joining those who are powerful enough to recognize the critical importance of reduced consumption and greater self-reliance as essential elements of these strategies by participating in тАШThe Flame Tree Project to Save Life on EarthтАЩ. While you over-consume or are dependent on the elite for your survival, in any way, you are vulnerable.

In addition, you are welcome to consider signing the online pledge of тАШThe PeopleтАЩs Charter to Create a Nonviolent WorldтАЩ.

Or, if you want something simpler, consider committing to:

The Earth Pledge

Out of love for the Earth and all of its creatures, and my respect for their needs, from this day onwards I pledge that:

  1. I will listen deeply to children. See тАШNisteling: The Art of Deep ListeningтАЩ.
  2. I will not travel by plane
  3. I will not travel by car
  4. I will not eat meat and fish
  5. I will only eat organically/biodynamically grown food
  6. I will minimize the amount of fresh water I use, including by minimizing my ownership and use of electronic devices
  7. I will not own or use a mobile (cell) phone
  8. I will not buy rainforest timber
  9. I will not buy or use single-use plastic, such as bags, bottles, containers, cups and straws
  10. I will not use banks, superannuation (pension) funds or insurance companies that provide any service to corporations involved in fossil fuels, nuclear power and/or weapons
  11. I will not accept employment from, or invest in, any organization that supports or participates in the exploitation of fellow human beings or profits from killing and/or destruction of the biosphere
  12. I will not get news from the corporate media (mainstream newspapers, television, radio, Google, Facebook, TwitterтАж)
  13. I will make the effort to learn a skill, such as food gardening or sewing, that makes me more self-reliant
  14. I will gently encourage my family and friends to consider signing this pledge.

Conclusion

Under cover of a тАШvirusтАЩ that does not exist, the global elite is social engineering a massive restructuring of world society to suit their own ends. If they achieve their aim, your existence as any sort of individual with meaningful rights and freedoms will have been terminated.

Apart from these ongoing disastrous outcomes, the elite coup is also unwittingly accelerating four paths to human extinction: nuclear war, the climate catastrophe, the deployment of 5G and biodiversity collapse.

To have any chance of defeating the elite coup and fighting effectively to avert our own extinction, we must fight strategically.

Fundamentally, this means recognizing that lobbying (that is, begging) elite agents, such as governments, simply reinforces the power of the elite to control us. It is only when we take action ourselves to both build our own power (which includes that of our children and those with whom we work) while campaigning strategically to undermine the power of the global elite itself that we take crucial steps to liberate ourselves from its violence, in all of the forms that this violence takes.

Given that the elite coup is jeopardizing our individuality, our liberty and our future, it is time for us to decide whether we are human beings or a planet of sheep.

This Is a Financial Extinction Event

By Charles Hugh Smith

Source: Of Two Minds

The lower reaches of the financial food chain are already dying, and every entity that depended on that layer is doomed.

Though under pressure from climate change, the dinosaurs were still dominant 65 million year ago–until the meteor struck, creating a global “nuclear winter”┬аthat darkened the atmosphere for months, killing off most of the food chain that the dinosaurs depended on. (See chart below.)

The ancestors of modern birds were one of the few dinosaur species to survive┬аthe extinction event, which took months to play out.

It wasn’t the impact and shock wave that killed off dinosaurs globally–it was the “nuclear winter” that doomed them to extinction.┬аAs plants withered, the plant-eating dinosaurs expired, depriving the predator dinosaurs of their food supply.

This is a precise analogy for the global economy, which is entering a financial “nuclear winter” extinction event.┬аAs I’ve been discussing for the past few months,┬аcosts are sticky but revenues and profits are on a slippery slope.

Businesses still have all the high fixed costs of 2019 but their revenues are sliding as the “nuclear winter” weakens consumer spending, investment in new capacity, etc.

Despite all the hoopla about a potential vaccine, no vaccine can change four realities:┬аone, consumer sentiment has shifted from confidence to caution and from spending freely to saving. This is the financial equivalent of “nuclear winter”: there is no way to return to the pre-impact environment.

Two, uncertainty cannot be dissipated, either. There are no guarantees a vaccine will be 99% effective, that it will last more than a few months, that it won’t have side-effects, etc. There are also no guarantees that consumers will resume their care-free spending ways as credit tightens, incomes decline, risks emerge and the need for savings becomes more compelling.

Three, consumer behavior and uncertainty have already changed, and so businesses that cannot survive on much lower revenues won’t last long enough to emerge from the “nuclear winter” of uncertainty and a shift in sentiment.

Four, assets based on 2019 revenues, profits and demand are now horrendously overvalued, and the repricing of all assets will bring down the┬аpredators, i.e. the banks.

As I’ve noted here before, the top 10% of households account for almost 50% of consumer spending.┬аThese households are older, and own the majority of assets –between 80% and 90% of stocks, bonds, business equity, rental real estate, etc. This is the demographic with the most to lose in returning to care-free air travel, jamming into crowded venues and cafes, etc.

This demographic has “been there, done that” and foregoing fine dining, sports events, concerts, cruises, etc. is not much a burden and may actually be a relief.

Meanwhile, the entire food chain of landlords, banks, local government, employees, etc. depends on enterprises returning to 100% of 2019 revenues.┬аAs tenants stop paying rent, landlords default on mortgages, sending banks into insolvency, leaving local government with less tax revenues and employees with fewer job prospects.

To a degree few appreciate, the “recovery” since 2009 has been dependent on over-spending, over-borrowing and over-speculating:┬аas spending, borrowing and speculation all pull back to what would have been “normal” levels two generations ago, the economy collapses because it’s become completely dependent on over-spending, over-borrowing and over-speculating.

As consumers and businesses retrench, borrowing declines while defaults and bankruptcies eviscerate bank profits and balance sheets. As spending declines, businesses with high fixed costs and pre-pandemic business models (crowding people together in close quarters, etc.) cannot generate enough revenues to survive. As the collateral of commercial real estate and profit streams collapse, assets are repriced all down the food chain, reversing the┬аwealth effect: as people feel poorer, they borrow and spend less, creating a feedback loop of lower valuations, lower spending, lower profits, lower borrowing all of which feed back into each other, pushing everything lower.

The lower reaches of the financial food chain are already dying, and every entity that depended on that layer is doomed: the small business die-off will bring down distributors, banks, landlords, and employment, and as the this layer collapses then the top predators will starve to death as well: Big Tech, healthcare, higher education, tourism, local tax revenues, etc.

The clouds are spreading and thickening, and the dawn sky is tinted an ominous red. This is a financial extinction event, and the Fed’s pathetic shamans can’t reverse history.

The Psychology of the COVID-19 Coup: The Elite, their Victims and those who Resist

By Robert J. Burrowes

As the elite coup against humanity continues to gather pace тАУ see тАШThe EliteтАЩs COVID-19 Coup Against a Terrified Humanity: Resisting PowerfullyтАЩ тАУ it is invaluable to observe the way in which the dysfunctional and violent psychology of the global elite, including those of its members who have a significant public profile such as Bill Gates, is revealed more starkly.

At the same time, it is interesting to observe the vast number of fearfully submissive people who are willing to accept, or even ask for, greater constraints on our rights, freedom and economic security, ostensibly to тАШprotectтАЩ them from a virus. Sadly, too, the fear of these people plays a critical collaborative role in both advancing the elite coup and condemning millions of others to death as the economic consequences of the destruction of the global economy inflicts its devastating impacts on those least able to cope with it.

Clearly complicated by a number of factors, including the locust plagues that have been devastating several countries in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia during early 2020 тАУ see тАШ360 Billion Locusts And Growing тАУ A Plague Of тАЬBiblical ProportionsтАЭ Is Destroying Crops Across The Middle East And AfricaтАЩ тАУ but now particularly because of official responses to COVID-19, as World Food Programme (WFP) Executive Director, David Beasley, has recently warned:

If we donтАЩt prepare and act now to secure access, to avoid funding shortfalls and disruptions to trade, we could be facing multiple famines of biblical proportions within a short few months… our analysis shows that 300,000 people could starve to death every single day over a three-month period. See тАШWFP chief warns of тАЬhunger pandemicтАЭ as Global Food Crises Report launchedтАЩ.

That is 27,000,000 people, if arithmetic is not your strong point, that will die of starvation, not COVID-19. And this figure, of course, is quite separate from the phenomenal hardship that millions are already experiencing as a result of the economic dislocation which has created a staggering number of newly unemployed people around the world.

In this article I will do three things. I will briefly explain the dysfunctional psychology of the global elite, using Bill Gates as an example, which explains why they seek vastly greater control over our lives at staggering expense to our rights, freedom and economic security. I will briefly explain why so many people are fearfully submissive victims of this coup, unable to perceive the deeper strands of what is taking place. And I will briefly reiterate what those people in a third category, ranging from those skeptical of the fear-mongering in relation to COVID-19 to those already resisting the lockdowns, curfews, martial law and other serious impositions on our lives, can do to ensure that their resistance has strategic impact.

The Violently Dysfunctional Psychology of the Global Elite

While the world is in turmoil, partly in response to the fear-mongering by WHO, governments, the medical industry and the corporate media that has profoundly inflated peopleтАЩs fear of COVID-19 but also because of the adverse cascading impacts of the long list of ill-advised decisions, particularly those that impact national economies made to supposedly deal with COVID-19, the primary concern of Bill Gates is that we all submit to vaccination and acquire a тАШdigital certificateтАЩ to prove that we have done so. For explanations of GatesтАЩ unsavory motives in promoting and conducting extensive vaccination, see тАШGatesтАЩ Globalist Vaccine Agenda: A Win-Win for Pharma and Mandatory VaccinationтАЩ and тАШBill Gates and the Depopulation Agenda. Robert F. Kennedy Junior Calls for an InvestigationтАЩ.

While this has led to substantial resistance on social media, including that Gates be arrested for crimes against humanity тАУ see тАШтАЬArrest Bill GatesтАЭ тАУ Says every Instagrammer on Gates AccountтАЩ тАУ it is, in fact, only the most public initiative by a member of the global elite even though it constitutes a key element of how the global elite intends to capture complete control of our lives to create what Whitney Webb describes as a тАШtechno tyrannyтАЩ.

Citing a range of evidence obtained from official but largely ignored organizations, decisions and documents in recent years, Webb thoughtfully describes a frightening view of the techno tyranny that is almost upon us and for which the latest moves are being rapidly implemented under the guise of combating COVID-19. Involving an unsavory alliance of the тАШintelligenceтАЩ community, the Pentagon and Silicon Valley, COVID-19 is being used as cover to remove economic and social тАШobstaclesтАЩ (including so-called тАШlegacy systemsтАЩ with which we are all familiar) to implementing the so-called fourth industrial revolution тАУ тАШa revolution characterized by discontinuous technological development in areas like artificial intelligence (AI), big data, fifth-generation telecommunications networking (5G), nanotechnology and biotechnology, robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), and quantum computingтАЩ тАУ to achieve everything from a cashless society and AI-driven technologies (particularly for mass surveillance and law enforcement) to driverless cars and тАШtelemedicineтАЩ.

For a sample of the documentation, see тАШCompeting With China on Technology and InnovationтАЩ, the US National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence, the тАШChinese Tech Landscape OverviewтАЩ, US Attorney General William BarrтАЩs тАШImplementation of National Disruption and Early Engagement Programs to Counter the Threat of Mass ShootingsтАЩ, the тАШAmerican Artificial Intelligence Initiative: Year One Annual ReportтАЩ of the US Office of Science and Technology Policy, and the recent advice by the White House that тАШPresident Donald J. Trump Announces Great American Economic Revival Industry GroupsтАЩ. Whitney Webb has written two recent articles тАУ тАШMeet The Companies Poised To Build The Kushner-Backed тАЬCoronavirus Surveillance SystemтАЭтАЩ and тАШTechno-Tyranny: How The US National Security State Is Using Coronavirus To Fulfill An Orwellian VisionтАЩ тАУ and been interviewed тАУ see тАШSecurity State using coronavirus to implement Orwellian nightmareтАЩ тАУ that thoughtfully describe what is taking place.

In short, it will leave those of us who are still alive and who havenтАЩt been replaced by robots as little more than digital entities, devoid of rights and freedoms, who are monitored and controlled to serve elite ends. You might still be able to choose what you buy, provided you do it online.

But while you can consider this evidence at your leisure, my own concern in this article is to explain why members of the global elite are so willing to inflict their violence on us, and to exploit us so mercilessly, without even caring. Why does their vision for the world and their effort to create it resemble the works of Aldous Huxley and George Orwell, rather than something that many more of us would consider desirable? Is profit really all that matters? What about people?

In short, the explanation for their behavior is that they are completely insane. But like some other versions of insanity that are also defined as тАШnormalтАЩ тАУ essentially because they are so widespread (like over-consumption in industrialized countries) that few think to question whether or not the behavior is actually functional тАУ it is fairly straightforward to explain both the origin and outcomes of their insanity.

At birth, every human child has enormous unique potential. However, to fully realize that potential, the child must be nurtured physically, emotionally, intellectually and in other ways so that their unique potential unfolds. This includes caring for them in their unique physical environment while allowing their natural inclination to learn, an evolutionary gift, to guide the manner and nature of their inquiry.

Unfortunately, however, adult humans do not appreciate and value the innate learning capacities of their children so we тАШteachтАЩ them, in the ways of our choosing (particularly by funneling them all through the one-size-fits-all institution we call тАШschoolтАЩ), what we want them to know instead. Because the child naturally resists this, the child is subjected to an extraordinary range of тАШvisibleтАЩ and тАШinvisibleтАЩ violence to force them to conform to societal norms.

Then, using what I have labeled тАШutterly invisible violenceтАЩ, we ensure that the feelings of fear, sadness, anger and pain (among many others) that this causes are suppressed so that we do not have to deal with the emotional and behavioral consequences of the violence we inflict on the child. This leaves the child with an unconscious legacy of fear, self-hatred and powerlessness that will manifest, depending on the context, throughout the childтАЩs life. For a thorough explanation of this, see тАШWhy Violence?тАЩ and тАШFearless Psychology and Fearful Psychology: Principles and PracticeтАЩ.

One outcome of being terrorized into submissive obedience throughout childhood is that the human тАШindividualтАЩ enters adulthood with no sense of their unique identity but fully comfortable with the socially constructed delusional identity they gradually took on during childhood. Having been terrorized into obedient submission to parents, teachers and religious figures, virtually all people readily take on the role of submissive worker/soldier and citizen fulfilling some fairly meaningless role in a society largely devoid of meaning. Understanding no other way and in a last resort to feel some sense of control over their life, they also then terrorize their own children into being submissively obedient.

And people like Bill Gates are not all that different except that the opportunities provided by their wealth and the privilege that goes with it, enable them to inflict their dysfunctional and violent behaviors on a vastly greater number of people in a fruitless endeavor to feel тАШin controlтАЩ. And they can do so without attracting the sanctions, legal and otherwise, that might constrain the behaviors of the rest of us.

So, as documented in the articles about Bill Gates cited above, his vaccination programs have wreaked havoc on adults and children throughout the global south, killing or incapacitating substantial numbers of people. This is unsurprising given the historical role of vaccination in precipitating a great many disorders and deaths, by introducing into the body contaminants such as aluminium and glyphosate. See Sayer JiтАЩs 326 page bibliography with a vast number of references to the literature explaining the exceptional range of shocking dangers from vaccination тАУ see тАШVaccinationтАЩ тАУ or, if you wish to just read straightforward accounts of the history of vaccine damage and the ongoing dangers, see these articles by Gary G. Kohls MD: тАШA Comprehensive List of Vaccine-Associated Toxic ReactionsтАЩ and тАШIdentifying the Vaccinology-Illiterate among UsтАЩ.

But does Bill Gates care about the staggering harm these vaccinations are causing? Does he care that future vaccinations are intended to be used to grotesquely infringe our rights and freedoms with the insertion of biometric data? See тАШCOVID-19: Perfect Cover for Mandatory Biometric IDтАЩ. What of his love? Compassion? Empathy? Sympathy? Does he have a conscience to call him to account, even if no legal system does? Does he respect people? Does he believe everyone should be given an individual and informed choice about whether or not they are vaccinated?

Tragically, Bill Gates is so psychologically damaged that he is simply devoid of qualities such as these. They were never given the chance to develop by parents who showed him the same lack of love, sympathy, care, respect and consideration. Moreover, because of his fear of being out of control, as he was when endlessly suffering the incredible violence of his parents throughout childhood, he now endlessly seeks control in the highly dysfunctional ways that his unconscious fear projects. That is, by seeking to control us all.

If you want to read more about the psychological dysfunctionality of Bill Gates and other members of the global elite, as well as their agents, and how this always manifests to our detriment, you can do so in articles such as тАШThe Global Elite is Insane RevisitedтАЩ, тАШLove Denied: The Psychology of Materialism, Violence and WarтАЩ and тАШUnderstanding Self-Hatred in World AffairsтАЩ.

Sadly, however, it is not just members of the global elite who are psychologically dysfunctional. There is a substantial portion of the human population who have suffered a similar fate, even if it manifests very differently. However, while this dysfunctionality might manifest in an extraordinarily wide variety of ways, it almost invariably includes fearful submission to those considered to be тАШin authorityтАЩ.

The Dysfunctional Psychology of Victims

Because each human being is unique, the individual is born with a powerful evolutionary gift: Self-will. This means that the individual has an incredible range of tools, including the capacity to apply sensory perception (sight, sound, touchтАж) to observe what is happening, the emotional capacity to feel what this means (is it satisfying, enjoyable, frightening, infuriatingтАж), to think for themself about the significance of it, to compare and contrast it with relevant memories, to gauge it against oneтАЩs conscience and so on until an integrated sense of how to behave in response is formulated and then acted on.

If a person is doing this then we might describe them as тАШSelf-awareтАЩ. And they are, truly, an individual.

However, because of the experience of childhood terrorization, briefly touched on above, most children are compelled to surrender the essence of these various capacities, and hence their Self-will, by a very young age. In these circumstances, the child becomes a fairly malleable instrument, easily transformed into a victim who is now devoid of the capacity to look deep within themselves to make sound judgments about what is taking place and to behave powerfully in response.

Instead, they simply obey the will of another: parent, teacher, religious figure, employer, political leaderтАж. and act more out of habit than consideration. Given the endless violence (usually labeled тАШpunishmentтАЩ) that is inflicted to ensure that children are obedient to others, rather than allowed to follow their own self-will, it takes an extraordinary child to survive with even a semblance of the potential with which they were born. As a result, most human behavior lacks consideration, conviction, courage and strategy, and is simply driven compulsively by the predominant fear in each context.

For elaboration of this explanation, see тАШThe Disintegrated Mind: The Greatest Threat to Human Survival on EarthтАЩ and тАШThe Psychology of Victimhood: Obama, Cameron, Netanyahu, Clinton, KissingerтАЩ.

A primary outcome of this childhood terrorization experience in materialist cultures is that the child learns to suppress their awareness of how they feel by using food and material items to distract themself. By doing this, the child rapidly loses their emerging self-awareness and learns to consume as the substitute for this awareness. Clearly, this has catastrophic consequences for the child, their society and for nature (although it is immensely profitable for elites and their agents whose Self-awareness is non-existent). For a fuller explanation, see тАШLove Denied: The Psychology of Materialism, Violence and WarтАЩ.

In essence, a victim is utterly terrified and powerless. These feelings are unconscious to the victim, which is why they are incapable of intelligently seeking out and personally assessing evidence (such as that in relation to COVID-19 and how it is being used) and they simply submit without protest once told to obey.

An equally important outcome for the victim, is that they have little, if any, capacity to see beyond themselves or their immediate concerns (which might include an activist preoccupation). They are incapable of perceiving and considering the wider ramifications of what is taking place тАУ the тАШbig pictureтАЩ тАУ such as for those millions of starving people referred to by WFP Executive Director David Beasley above. Any sense of a тАШwider selfтАЩ, of human solidarity beyond the most superficial kind, is incomprehensible to them.

Making sure our Resistance to this Coup has Strategic Impact

So this is why a third group in relation to this elite coup is so important: Those individuals who are already resisting the coup or those who will soon choose to do so. Clearly, these people have sufficient sense of Self, the intelligence and emotional capacity (including courage) to consider the evidence in relation to COVID-19 and what lies beneath it, and to draw conclusions at variance with those presented by the elite through its international organizations (such as the World Health Organization), governments and corporate media.

And it is to these people that this final section is particularly addressed.

I have previously explained a nonviolent strategy to resist this elite coup against humanity. See тАШThe EliteтАЩs COVID-19 Coup Against a Terrified Humanity: Resisting PowerfullyтАЩ.

This included identifying its political purpose тАУ obviously тАШTo defend humanity against a political/military coup conducted by the global eliteтАЩ тАУ and setting out a basic list of 26 strategic goals for achieving this purpose. You can read the тАШStrategic goals for defeating a political/military coup conducted by the global elite against humanityтАЩ by scrolling down the page at тАШStrategic AimsтАЩ.

Remaining pages on the website fully explain the twelve components of the strategy, as illustrated by the Nonviolent Strategy Wheel, as well as articles and videos explaining all of the vital points of strategy and tactics, such as those to help you understand тАШNonviolent Action: Why and How it WorksтАЩ and how to prepare, frame and conduct any nonviolent action to minimize the risk of violent repression. See тАШNonviolent Action: Minimizing the Risk of Violent RepressionтАЩ.

While many of the tactics identified are designed to make it very easy for individuals to be involved, an increasing number of people are already participating in nonviolent actions based on public gatherings to тАШEnd the LockdownтАЩ using social media messaging with that or similar labels. See, for example, тАШProtesting the Lockdowns is Getting Going тАУ #endthelockdownтАЩ.

Therefore, as more people become aware of the coup and the energy to resist it continues to gather pace, it will be worthwhile to choose a locally significant date on which as many people who are willing to do so act to тАШEnd the LockdownтАЩ in your country. Using a locally relevant focus, or perhaps several, for which many people would traditionally be together тАУ a cultural or sporting event, a community activity such as working to establish a community garden to increase local self-reliance, a birthday celebration and/or a return to work тАУ we can mobilize people to collectively resist the coup that is taking place.

Because the actions taken can be dispersed with large numbers of people responding in a vast number of locations, it will be impossible for police and military forces to inflict violent repression against everyone, particularly if local organizers have implemented the points in тАШNonviolent Action: Minimizing the Risk of Violent RepressionтАЩ.

Equally importantly to any of the points above, particularly given the pressing threat of human extinction тАУ see тАШHuman Extinction Now Imminent and Inevitable? A Report on the State of Planet EarthтАЩ тАУ but also because becoming more self-reliant is vital to our ongoing capacity to resist elite encroachments on our rights, freedom and economic security, consider joining those participating in тАШThe Flame Tree Project to Save Life on EarthтАЩ. This project also explains how to take full advantage of non-monetary forms of community where goods and services are exchanged directly, without money as a medium of exchange. Money only has value in certain types of economy and these types of economy must be superseded if humans are to survive.

Moreover, given the enormous pressure on children at the moment, as their lives are upended, it would be useful to spend time listening to them. Of course, if you know an adult who is having trouble coping, it will help them enormously as well if you listen while giving them the opportunity to talk about, and focus on feeling, their own emotional reactions to what is taking place. See тАШNisteling: The Art of Deep ListeningтАЩ. If you do not have anyone who can listen to you, try тАШPutting Feelings FirstтАЩ.

In addition, because the foundation of this entire elite-controlled world, and the coup it is now implementing, is the submissively obedient individual, the world can only be rebuilt as we might like it if we stop terrorizing children into being submissive. So I would start by parenting and educating children so that they become powerful. See тАШMy Promise to ChildrenтАЩ and тАШDo We Want School or Education?тАЩ

Finally, as touched on above, apart from the ongoing elite coup the Earth is under siege from our assaults on a vast range of fronts. See тАШHuman Extinction Now Imminent and Inevitable? A Report on the State of Planet EarthтАЩ. So if we are serious about tackling this crisis too, we must be willing to consider committing to:

The Earth Pledge┬а

Out of love for the Earth and all of its creatures, and my respect for their needs, from this day onwards I pledge that:

  1. I will listen deeply to children (see explanation above)
  2. I will not travel by plane
  3. I will not travel by car
  4. I will not eat meat and fish
  5. I will only eat organically/biodynamically grown food
  6. I will minimize the amount of fresh water I use, including by minimizing my ownership and use of electronic devices
  7. I will not buy rainforest timber
  8. I will not buy or use single-use plastic, such as bags, bottles, containers, cups and straws
  9. I will not use banks, superannuation (pension) funds or insurance companies that provide any service to corporations involved in fossil fuels, nuclear power and/or weapons
  10. I will not accept employment from, or invest in, any organization that supports or participates in the exploitation of fellow human beings or profits from killing and/or destruction of the biosphere
  11. I will not get news from the corporate media (mainstream newspapers, television, radio, Google, Facebook, TwitterтАж)
  12. I will make the effort to learn a skill, such as food gardening or sewing, that makes me more self-reliant
  13. I will gently encourage my family and friends to consider signing this pledge.

Conclusion

Given that any serious investigation of the circumstances underlying the so-called COVID-19 тАШpandemicтАЩ reveals that the entire global episode has been contrived to further an unsavory elite end, at staggering cost to humans everywhere, it is imperative that those who are capable of perceiving this reality also take action to bring this ongoing coup to an early end.

The longer it takes to muster a full response to defeat this coup, the more damage тАУ to our rights, freedoms, economic security, opportunities, democratic governance, the global economy and the environment тАУ will have been inflicted, making the struggle to restore them vastly more difficult.

More importantly, if human solidarity means anything to you, the lives of millions of people (in the global south) are at stake and the economic security (through lost employment) of millions more.

And these lives, if lost or marginalized, while suiting some elite depopulation agenda, will be a stark but ugly reminder that COVID-19 was never about a virus but about our fear.

Locked Down and Locking in the New Global Order

By Colin Todhunter

Source: CounterPunch

On 12 March, British PM Boris Johnson informed the public that families would continue to тАЬlose loved ones before their timeтАЭ as the coronavirus outbreak worsens. He added:

тАЬWeтАЩve all got to be clear, this is the worst public health crisis for a generation.тАЭ

In a report, the Imperial College had┬аwarned┬аof┬аmodelling┬аthat suggested over 500,000 would die from the virus in the UK. The lead author of the report, epidemiologist Neil Ferguson, has since revised the estimate downward to a maximum of 20,000 if current тАШlockdownтАЩ measures work. Johnson seems to have based his statement on FergusonтАЩs original figures.

Before addressing the belief that a lockdown will help the UK, it might be useful to turn to an ongoing public health crisis that receives scant media and government attention тАУ because context is everything and responses that are proportionate to crises are important.

The silent public health crisis

In a┬аnew 29-page open letter┬аto Fiona Godlee, editor-in-chief of the British Medical Journal, environmentalist Dr Rosemary Mason spends 11 pages documenting the spiralling rates of disease that she says (supported by numerous research studies cited) are largely the result of exposure to health-damaging agrochemicals, not least the worldтАЩs most widely used weedkiller тАУ glyphosate.

The amount of glyphosate-based herbicides sprayed by UK farmers on crops has gone from 226,762 kg in 1990 to 2,240,408 kg in 2016, a 10-fold increase. Mason discusses links between┬аmultiple pesticide residues (including glyphosate) in food and steady increases in the number of cancers both in the UK and worldwide as well as allergic diseases, chronic kidney disease, AlzheimerтАЩs, ParkinsonтАЩs, obesity and many other conditions.

Mason is at pains to stress that agrochemicals are a major contributory factor (or actual cause) for the spikes in these diseases and conditions. She says this is the real public health crisis affecting the UK (and the US).┬аEach year, she argues, there are steady increases in the numbers of new cancers in the UK and increases in deaths from the same cancers, with no treatments making any difference to the numbers.

Of course, it would be unwise to lay all the blame at the door of the agrochemicals sector: we are subjected each day to a cocktail of toxic chemicals via household goods, food processing practices and food additives and environmental pollution. Yet there seems to be a serious lack of action to interfere with corporate practices and profits on the part of public bodies, so much so that a report by the Corporate Europe Observatory said in 2014 that the then outgoing European Commission had become a willing servant of a corporate agenda.

In a┬а2017 report, Hilal Elver, UN Special rapporteur on the right to food, and UN Special Rapporteur on human rights and hazardous substances and wastes Baskut Tuncak were severely critical of the global corporations that manufacture pesticides, accusing them of the тАЬsystematic denial of harmsтАЭ, тАЬaggressive, unethical marketing tacticsтАЭ and heavy lobbying of governments which has тАЬobstructed reforms and paralysed global pesticide restrictionsтАЭ.

The authors said that pesticides have catastrophic impacts on the environment, human health and society as a whole, including an estimated 200,000 deaths a year from acute poisoning.┬а They concluded that it is time to create a global process to transition toward safer and healthier food and agricultural production.

At the time, Elver said that, in order to tackle this issue, the power of the corporations must be addressed.

While there is currently much talk of the coronavirus placing immense strain on the NHS, Mason highlights that the health service is already creaking and that due to weakened immune systems brought about by the contaminated food we eat, any new virus could spell disaster for public health.

But do we see a тАШlockdownтАЩ on the activities of the global agrochemical conglomerates? Not at all. As Mason has highlighted in her numerous reports, we see governments and public health bodies working hand in glove with the agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals manufacturers to ensure тАШbusiness as usualтАЩ. So, it might seem strange to many that the UK government is seemingly going out of its way (by stripping people of their freedoms) under the guise of a public health crisis but is all too willing to oversee a massive, ongoing one caused by the chemical pollution of our bodies.

MasonтАЩs emphasis on an ongoing public health crisis brought about by poisoned crops and food is but part of a wider story. And it must be stated that it is a тАШsilentтАЩ crisis because the mainstream media and various official reports in the UK have consistently ignored or downplayed the role of pesticides in fuelling this situation.

Systemic immiseration

Another part of the health crisis story involves ongoing austerity measures.

The current Conservative administration in the UK is carrying out policies that it says will protect the general population and older people in particular. This is in stark contrast to its record over the previous decade which demonstrates contempt for the most vulnerable in society.

In 2019, a leading UN poverty expert compared Conservative welfare policies to the creation of 19th-century workhouses and warned that unless austerity is ended, the UKтАЩs poorest people face lives that are тАЬsolitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and shortтАЭ. Philip Alston, the UN rapporteur on extreme poverty, accused ministers of being in a state of denial about the impact of policies. He accused them of the тАЬsystematic immiseration of a significant part of the British populationтАЭ.

In another 2019 report, it was claimed that more than 130,000 deaths in the UK since 2012 could have been prevented if improvements in┬аpublic health┬аpolicy had not stalled as a direct result of austerity cuts.

Over the past 10 years in the UK, there has been rising┬аfood poverty┬аand increasing reliance on food banks, while┬аthe five richest families┬аare now worth more than the poorest 20% and about┬аa third┬аof BritainтАЩs population lives in poverty.

Almost┬а18 million┬аcannot afford adequate housing conditions; 12 million are too poor to engage in common social activities; one in three cannot afford to heat their homes adequately in winter; and four million children and adults are not properly fed (BritainтАЩs population is estimated at 63 to 64 million). Welfare cuts have┬аpushed hundreds of thousands below the poverty line┬аsince 2012, including more than 300,000 children.

In the wake of a lockdown, we can only speculate about how a devastated economy might be exploited to further this тАШausterityтАЩ agenda. With bailouts being promised to companies and many workers receiving public money to see them through the current crisis, this will need to be clawed back from somewhere. Will that be the excuse for defunding the NHS and handing it over to private healthcare companies with health insurance firms in tow? Are we to see a further deepening of the austerity agenda, let alone an extension of the surveillance state given the current lockdown measures which may not be fully rolled back?

The need for the current lockdown and the eradication of our freedoms has been questioned by some, not least┬аLord J. Sumption, former Supreme Court Justice. He has questioned the legitimacy of Boris JohnsonтАЩs press conference/statement to deprive people of their liberty and has said:

тАЬThere is a difference between law and official instructions. It is the difference between a democracy and a police stateтАЭ.

Journalist┬аPeter Hitchens says┬аa newspaper headline for what Sumption says might be тАУ┬атАШFormer Supreme Court justice says Johnson measures lead towards police stateтАЩ or тАШTOP JUDGE WARNS OF POLICE STATEтАЩ.

But, as Hitchens implies, such headlines do not appear. Indeed, where is the questioning in the mainstream media or among politicians about any of this? To date, there have been a few isolated voices, with┬аHitchens himself┬аbeing one.

In his recent articles, Hitchens has questioned the need for the stripping of the publicтАЩs rights and freedoms under the pretext of a perceived coronavirus pandemic.┬аHe has referred to esteemed scientists who question the need for and efficacy of тАШsocial distancingтАЩ and keeping the public under virtual тАШhouse arrestтАЩ.

An┬аopen Letter from Dr. Sucharit Bhakdi, emeritus professor of medical microbiology at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, to Angela Merkel calls for an urgent reassessment of GermanyтАЩs lockdown response to Covid-19.┬аThen there is┬аDr Ioannidis, a professor of medicine and professor of epidemiology and population health at Stanford University.┬аHe argues that we have made such decisions on the basis of unreliable data. These two scientists are not alone. On the OffGuardian website, two┬аarticles┬аhave┬аappeared┬аwhich present the views of 22 experts who question policies and/or the data that is being cited about the coronavirus.

Shift in balance of power

Professor Michel Chossudovsky┬аhas looked at who could ultimately benefit from current events and concludes that certain pharmaceutical companies could be (are already) major beneficiaries as they receive lavish funding to develop vaccines. He asks whether we can trust the main actors behind what could amount to a multibillion dollar global (compulsory) vaccination (surveillance) project.

The issue of increased government surveillance has also been prominent in various analyses of the ongoing situation, not least in pushing the world further towards cashless societies (under the pretext that cash passes on viruses) whereby our every transaction is digitally monitored and a personтАЩs virtual money could be declared null and void if a government so decides. Many discussions have implicated the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in this тАУ an entity that for some time has been promoting the roll-out of global vaccine programmes and a global тАШwar on cashтАЩ.

For instance, financial journalist┬аNorbert Haring notes┬аthat the Gates Foundation and US state-financial interests had an early pivotal role in pushing for the 2016┬аdemonestisation policy with the aim of pushing India further towards a cashless society. However, the policy caused immense damage to the economy and the lives and livelihoods of hundreds of millions in India who rely on cash in their everyday activities.

But that does not matter to those who roll out such policies. What matters is securing control over global payments and the ability to monitor and block them. Control food you control people. Control digital payments (and remove cash), you can control and monitor everything a country and its citizens do and pay for.

India has now also implemented a lockdown on its population and tens of millions of migrant workers have been returning to their villages. If there is a risk of corona virus infection, masses of people congregating in close proximity then returning to the countryside does not bode well.

Indeed, the impact of lockdowns and social isolation could have more harm than the effects of the coronavirus itself in terms of hunger, depression, suicides and the overall deterioration of the health of older people who are having operations delayed and who are stuck indoors with little social interaction or physical movement.

If current events show us anything, it is that fear is a powerful weapon for securing hegemony. Any government can manipulate fear about certain things while conveniently ignoring real dangers that a population faces. In a recent article, author and researcher┬аRobert J Burrowes says:

тАЬтАж if we were seriously concerned about our world, the gravest and longest-standing health crisis on the planet is the one that starves to death 100,000 people each day. No panic about that, of course. And no action either.тАЭ

And, of course, each day we live with the very real danger of dying a horrific death because of the thousands of nuclear missiles that hang over our heads. But this is not up for discussion. The media and politicians say nothing. Fear perception can be deliberately managed, while Walter LippmannтАЩs concept of the тАШbewildered herdтАЩ cowers on cue and demands the government to further strip its rights under the guise of safety.

Does the discussion thus far mean that those who question the mainstream narrative surrounding the coronavirus are in denial of potential dangers and deaths that have been attributed to the virus? Not at all. But perspective and proportionate responses are everything and healthy debate should still take place, especially when our fundamental freedoms are at stake.

Unfortunately, many of those who would ordinarily question power and authority have meekly fallen into line: those in the UK who would not usually accept anything at face value that Boris Johnson or his ministers say, are now all too easily willing to accept the data and the government narrative. This is perplexing as both the government and the mainstream media have serious trust deficits (putting it mildly) if we look at their false narratives in numerous areas, including chemical attacks in Syria, тАШRussian aggressionтАЩ, baseless smear campaigns directed at Jeremy Corbyn and WMDs in Iraq.

What will emerge from current events is anyoneтАЩs guess. Some authors like economist and geopolitical analyst┬аPeter Koenig┬аhave presented disturbing scenarios for a future authoritarian world order under the control of powerful state-corporate partners. Whatever the eventual outcome, financial institutions, pharmaceuticals companies and large corporations will capitalise on current events to extend their profits, control and influence.

Major corporations are already in line for┬аmassive bailouts┬аdespite them having kept workersтАЩ wages low and lining the pockets of top executives and shareholders by spending zero-interest money on stock buy backs. And┬аWorld Bank Group President David Malpass┬аhas stated that poorer countries will be тАШhelpedтАЩ to get back on their feet тАУ on the condition that further neoliberal reforms and the undermining of public services are implemented and become further embedded:

тАЬCountries will need to implement structural reforms to help shorten the time to recovery and create confidence that the recovery can be strong.┬а For those countries that have excessive regulations, subsidies, licensing regimes, trade protection or litigiousness as obstacles, we will work with them to foster markets, choice and faster growth prospects during the recovery.тАЭ

In the face of economic crisis and stagnation at home, this seems like an ideal opportunity for Western capital to further open up and loot economies abroad. In effect, the coronavirus provides cover for the further entrenchment of dependency and dispossession. Global conglomerates will be able to hollow out the remnants of nation state sovereignty, while ordinary peopleтАЩs rights and ability to organise and challenge the corporate hijack of economies and livelihoods will be undermined by the intensified, globalised system of surveillance that beckons.

The Covid-19 Dominoes Fall: The World Is Insolvent

By Charles Hugh Smith

Source: Of Two Minds

Subtract their immense debts and they have negative net worth, and therefore the market value of their stock is zero.

To understand why the financial dominoes toppled by the Covid-19 pandemic lead to global insolvency, let’s start with a household example.┬аThe point of this exercise is to distinguish between┬аthe market value of assets┬аand┬аnet worth, which is what’s left after┬аdebts are subtracted from the market value of assets.

Let’s say the household has done very well for itself and owns assets worth $1 million:┬аa home, a family business, 401K retirement accounts and a portfolio of stocks and other investments.

The household also has $500,000 in debts:┬аhome mortgage, auto loans, student loans and credit card balances.

The household net worth is thus $1,000,000 minus $500,000 = $500,000.

Let’s say a typical financial crisis and recession occur, and the household’s assets fall 30%.┬а30% of $1 million is $300,000, so the the market value of the household’s assets falls to $700,000.

Deduct the $500,000 in debts and the household’s net worth has fallen to $200,000.┬аThe point here is debts remain regardless of what happens to the market value of assets owned by the household.

Then the speculative asset bubbles re-inflate, and the household takes on more debt in the euphoric expansion of confidence to buy a larger house, expand the family business and enjoy life more.

Now the household assets are worth $2 million, but debt has risen to $1.5 million.┬аNet worth remains at $500,000, since debt has risen along with asset values.

Alas, all bubbles pop, and the market value of the household assets decline by 30%, or $600,000. Now the household assets are worth $2,000,000 minus $600,000 or $1,400,000. The household net worth is now $1,400,000 minus $1,500,000 or┬аnegative $100,000. the household is insolvent.

On top of that, the net income of the family business plummets to near-zero in the recession, leaving insufficient income to pay all the debts the household has taken on.

This is an exact analog for the entire global economy, which pre-pandemic had assets with a market value of $350 trillion and debts of $255 trillion┬аand thus a net worth of around $100 trillion.

The $11 trillion that has evaporated in the market value of U.S. stocks is only a taste of the losses in market value.┬аGlobal stock markets has lost $30 trillion, and once yields rise despite central bank manipulations (oops, I mean intervention), $30 trillion in the market value of bonds will vanish into thin air.

The market value of junk bonds has already plummeted by trillions,┬аand that’s not even counting the trillions lost in small business equity, shadow banking and a host of other non-tradable assets.

Then there’s the most massive asset bubble of all, real estate.┬аMillions of properties delusional owners still think are worth $1.4 million will soon revert to a more reality-based valuation around $400,000, or perhaps even less, meaning $1 million per property will melt into air.

Once the market value of global assets falls by $100 trillion, the world is insolvent.

Everyone expecting the financial markets to magically return to January 2020 levels once the pandemic dies down is delusional.┬аAll the dominoes of crashing market valuations, crashing incomes, crashing profits and soaring defaults will take down all the fantasy-based valuations of bubblicious assets: stocks, bonds, real estate, bat guano, you name it. (Actually, bat guano will be the keeper of all the asset classes listed.)

The global financial system has already lost $100 trillion in market value, and therefore it’s already insolvent.┬аThe only question remaining is┬аhow insolvent?

Here’s a hint: companies whose shares were recently worth $500 or $300 will be worth $10 or $20 when this is over.┬аBonds that were supposedly “safe” will lose 50% of their market value. Real estate will be lucky to retain 40% of its current value. And so on.

As net worth crashes below zero, debts remain.┬аThe loans must still be serviced or paid off, and if the borrowers default, then the losses must be absorbed by the lenders or taxpayers, if we get a repeat of 2008 and the insolvent taxpayers are forced to bail out the insolvent financial elites.

Here’s the S&P 500. Where is the bottom? There is no bottom,┬аbut nobody dares say this. Companies with negative profits have no value other than the cash on hand and the near-zero auction value of other assets. Subtract their immense debts and they have negative net worth, and therefore the market value of their stock is zero.

Get Ready For An Economic Wake-Up Call This Holiday Season

By Brandon Smith

Source: Alt-Market.com

If we are to measure the concept of тАЬeconomic recoveryтАЭ in real terms, then we would have to look at the fundamentals (not stock markets) and whether or not they’re improving. Unfortunately, not all economic data is presented to the public honestly. Very often it is mired and obscured in a fog of disinformation and false standards.

I would point out, though, that there is relatively accurate information out there in certain areas of the global economy, and it tells us our economic structure is destabilizing. Beyond that, even the rigged numbers are moving into negative territory. But what does all this mean for the holiday retail season, one of the mainstream’s favorite gauges of US financial health? And, if 2019’s holiday profits sink, what does this tell us is going to happen in 2020?

First, let’s start with what we know…

Since we live in a тАЬglobalizedтАЭ economy where everything is supposedly тАЬinterdependentтАЭ, it helps to examine international export numbers. The US doesn’t manufacture and export much of anything anymore beyond agricultural products, but global markets do expect us to consume the goods of other nations. A decline in exports indicates a failing global economy, but in particular a failing US consumer economy.

The obvious example would be China, which has seen plunging export data at least the past three months, though many will argue that this is merely due to tariffs and the trade war. However, it’s not just China that is showing signs of collapse.

South Korea, another major manufacturing and export hub in Asia (5th largest in the world) has seen declining exports for 11 consecutive months. South Korean shipping is crumbling in November and the media is blaming the trade war, as some SK companies would be тАЬhit indirectlyтАЭ because they sell intermediate goods to China are are linked to US companies in China. But this makes little sense. Tariffs are highly targeted to specific companies and specific goods, and so far the US has not directed major tariff attention at South Korea beyond the auto market.┬а Also, the new KORUS deal between Trump and SK is different only cosmetically to original trade agreements, yet, South Korean exports continue to fall.

The same situation can be seen in Japan, with Japanese exports witnessing a 9.2% year-over-year drop in October, the largest decline in 3 years. Japan has seen three consecutive months of declines in exports.

And what about Europe? While Germany, the manufacturing powerhouse of the EU, finally saw a jump in exports to the US this past month, overall the European Union has seen consistently poor export performance for the past year, and Germany itself is hovering on the edge of recession with 0.1% official GDP growth. Many economist already consider Germany to be in recession, as official GDP numbers are constantly manipulated by governments to the upside.

But let’s not forget about the US. Remember how Trump promised that the trade war would result in a renaissance for US manufacturing and that millions of industrial jobs would be returning to our shores? Well, as I’ve warned consistently for the past couple years, there is NO WAY corporations will be bringing manufacturing jobs and factories back to the US without ample incentives. Trump already gave companies tax cuts without demanding anything in return, and the cost/benefit ratio of building new factories and paying American workers top dollar versus keeping existing factories in Asia and dealing with 10%-25% tariffs just doesn’t add up to a new US rust belt renaissance.

While manufacturing jobs have increased, US manufacturing activity has declined.┬а Meaning, there simply isn’t enough demand for the goods being produced.┬а US manufacturing ISM index just sank this month and has been sinking for the past four month into negative territory. While US PMI manufacturing data jumped this month, it is still well below the 10 year average and is also very low compared to past holiday seasons, which almost always see a spike in manufacturing.┬а US manufacturing remains at a historic low of 11% of US GDP and production output has decline steadily since January of this year.

The question is, will the vast decline in global manufacturing translate to a crash in consumer demand?┬а We know that US credit dependency has skyrocketed in the past few years, but will more debt result in more profits for retailers?┬а This is highly unlikely, as US retail sales growth, for example, has been in decline at the same time that consumer debt has been rising.┬а Why?┬а Credit delinquencies have been relatively stable (so far) this year, so my theory is that people in the US are paying off previous debts by taking on new debt. They are kicking the can on their insolvency.

We have seen this kind of destructive credit death cycle before – Right before the crash of 2008.

So what does all this mean? And why is the media portraying the trade war with China as the cause of the global export and shipping crisis when clearly most of the world is not directly or even indirectly tied to the tariffs?

As noted above, the narrative that is being pushed is that we live in an тАЬinterdependentтАЭ and globalized world, and that nations cannot function economically without cooperation. The trade war, I believe, is a smokescreen designed by the globalist establishment to do two things specifically:

1) It is being created to hide a crash in the greater economy. Notice that almost no one in the mainstream is talking about a collapse in global production and multiple fundamentals due to DEMAND; instead they constantly talk about the trade war and exports. The trade war is becoming the scapegoat for the implosion of the market bubble engineered by globalists and central banks through a decade of stimulus measures.

The collapse of the economic bubble is being caused in part by massive debt and a lack of consumer demand due to lack of consumer savings and cash flow. The trade war has little to do with it, and I suspect we would be seeing sharp declines in the US economy in particular even without the trade war.

2) The trade war creates a false dichotomy in which many Americans will be lured into blaming China and other nations for their economic ills, and China and the rest of the world will be lured into blaming America. It also reasserts the globalist propaganda argument that when nations and economies тАЬgo rogueтАЭ, they hurt everyone; therefore, more global controls and centralization will have to be established in order to prevent nationalism from harming the rest of the world.

And what does this all have to do with the Christmas shopping season? Like the end of last year, I think we are in for another ugly holiday retail event тАУ Perhaps far worse than before. All the manufacturing and export data indicates that this will be the case. If so, then the mainstream narrative of recovery, long perpetuated as fact by the media and the Federal Reserve for the past several years, will finally die.

The only thing that might elevate holiday numbers would be increased price inflation in goods, but I predict that even inflation misrepresented as “profits” will not save Christmas stats this year.┬а Some skeptics of the ongoing crash will argue that Black Friday numbers this year were the best since 2013, therefore the holiday season will be a good one.┬а These people don’t know their economic history.┬а In most cases, holiday seasons that start off with a high traffic Black Friday end with poor overall sales data, including 2013.┬а This is because consumers that are cash strapped are more likely to buy early during Black Friday sales and spend far less over the rest of the season.

In the mind of the average American consumer, holiday retail sales are a primary indicator of the health of the economy. A dramatic crash in Christmas retail will end the delusion of a stable US system and cause the public to start asking questions. Economics is 50% math and 50% psychology. The math in the US economy says we are in the middle of a crash. The psychological orientation of the public has been on the opposite end of spectrum, but is now slowly moving to meet with reality. When the psychological delusion ends, the game is over. And, for the globalists a new game begins.

Order out of chaos is their motto for a reason…

The global тАЬresetтАЭ as they sometimes refer to it, has already been triggered. Going into 2020, the question is will the fantasy fall completely away to reveal the grotesque economic swamp our foundation has been built on top of? Or, will the delusion drag on for at least one more year? Given the current data, I suspect the party is over. But it is difficult to predict how the public will react to a financial crash. Sometimes people have no choice but to acknowledge the danger in front of them, but sometimes they simply bury their heads in the sand deeper and hope that by dragging out the inevitable the inevitable will become forgettable.
